Illinois is home to many auto dealerships selling good used cars at very reasonable prices. With cars being integral part of life, we all need the convenience that comes with owning one, if only at a small price. There are many places where you can buy a used car, one of these being from a private owner. There are laws though to be adhered to.

According to law, you are supposed to register the car at state’s secretary office. Registration involves filling out completed application for Form VSD 190 and vehicle title. The car title should also be changed to your name. Make sure the owner has a title before you make the purchase. If the title is missing, they should apply for a duplicate title before the trade proceeds. The process of registration and acquiring the title in your name should be complete within 20 days of the purchase. New residents in the area are allowed a grace period of 30 days. Registration costs $99 for the first time with ordinary plates being issued on the spot.

The “Implied warranties” law in Illinois does not cover used cars. When you purchase the used car, there is no guarantee of quality. It would be wise to check with the manufacturer to validate the warranty and confirm whether it is still in force. Otherwise, you may end up paying up heavier bills for repairs later.

Illinois laws are a bit relaxed when it comes to providing evidence of purchase. The law will not require evidence of purchase on a used car. Lawyers advise that the transaction should be documented on paper to act as evidence. It is also advisable to avoid paying by cash and draw and bank draft instead that will also act as proof of purchase. This will save you from the hassles that are related to legal issues such as claim of auto theft.

When you buy your used car in Illinois, the law requires that you pay tax to the state. The amount of tax payable will vary according to various factors such as the price of the car and its age. The amount of tax to pay will be calculated by the office of the state secretary.

Just like any other state in the US, laws in Illinois dictate that every driver to insure the car under the various policies. Policies include that will compensate injured people and damages to their cars and property in the event of an accident. Make insurance arrangements beforehand or as soon as you identify the car you wish to buy.

Along the the shores of the Ohio River, on the Illinois side, you’ll find a dramatic landscape and an amazing piece of history. Carved into the face of a high bluff you’ll find the gaping and sinister looking maw of a 55 foot wide limestone cave.

This is . . .
Cave-in-Rock.

Carved by water tens of thousands of years ago, Cave-in-Rock has been used by native peoples and travelers for centuries. While the cave offered shelter and protection it also has an unsavory past. The cave’s deep, dark recesses immediately conjure up images of something quite unpleasant . . . bandits and river pirates.

The first European (of record) to come across it was M. de Lery, who found it in 1739 and called it “caverne dans Le Roc”.
From the 1790s to the 1870s Cave-in-Rock and the area around the cave was infested with brazen bandits, murderers and thieves who preyed on the unsuspecting travelers heading down the Ohio to the western frontiers.

MLS Real Estate List is located in Chicago, Illinois and works with Chicago Real Estate. MLS Real Estate List provides real estate information to millions all over the country.

MLS Real Estate List is a part of Chicago Real Estate. By using a real estate agent through Chicago Real Estate, you have the opportunity to place your home on the MLS. The MLS, or multiple listing service, provides detailed housing information to millions of real estate agents in the United States and Canada. The MLS increases the chance of selling your home due to the listing contracts that real estate agents have. The Multiple Listing Service works by letting real estate agents represent sellers through these contracts to share housing information to agents who are working with interested buyers or who have a deal to find a potential buyer with the seller’s agent.

High-maintenance fashionistas hit the big designer names and shops on Michigan Avenue before heading to more cutting-edge, off-the-beaten-track boutiques in Bucktown. And those in search of eye candy can take in the buff young professionals biking, running and skating their way along the Lake Michigan shoreline — or, better yet, hit the bike path themselves.

Chicago is a difficult city to navigate. Many drivers who are visiting or relocating to Chicago find it difficult to navigate the city. “Chi-town” is a fast paced, fiercely congested city. It can be very challenging for even the best out of town drivers until they become used to the hectic way native Chicagoans drive. Need to get over a lane or two? Good luck, Chicagoans view the turn signal as an indicator of already occupying that lane, so if you want to get over, start moving and then turn on your signal. That’s sort of a joke, but really is the reality of driving in Chicago, which can be disconcerting to someone who is relocating to the city for one of it many careers or prestigious schools. National Transport LLC can assist you in your car shipping needs. We know the freeways and streets of Chicago and our carriers are experts at navigating the topsy-turvy narrow streets of “Chi-town.” So, whether your relocating to South Side or to The Loop, rest assured that we will transport you car safely and securely to your door at an affordable rate.
